A non profit institution, the City of Children assists around 1.800 destitute people in the region of Simões Filho in Bahia, offering leisure, culture, educational and professional development along with income generation. The support of Robert Bosch Institute, since 1999, targets the continuing development of the social works and move towards the self-sustainability. The projects supported in the City of Children include programs of professional training for under age destitutes, organic vegetable garden, poultry farming, building of a library, edible mushrooming, and bakery and pastry shop.

In 2006 the Robert Bosch Institute enabled the construction of a sports court made for the development of sport activities structured by the institution.
